The fires in California (and many other places) have

decimated communities, displaced families, and caused homelessness.

At the same time, they have brought people together in some very special ways.

#calfirestories is a campaign to collect and, eventually,

share and spread these stories of the aftermath of fire.

The hope is to eventually use these to develop funding for key elements to help them get back on their feet.

SOME STATS:

2021 Combined YTD (CALFIRE & US Forest Service):8,367 fires = 3,083,507 acres

2020 Combined YTD (CALFIRE & US Forest Service): 8,258 fires = 4,332,960 acres

5-Year Average (same interval): 5,581 fires = 843,301 acres
